About Ellisiv

Ellisiv Tandberg has received numerous prizes in piano competitions both as a soloist and as a chamber musician. In 2024 she recieved a 1st Prize in Franz Liszt Center International Piano Competition, 2. Prize in Alicante International Piano Competition as well as 3rd Prize in International Vienna Piano Competition “Wiener Klassik”.

At the age of 17 she performed as a soloist with the Norwegian Radio Orchestra on national television in the finals of the NRK’s “Virtuoso” Competition, the national prestage of Eurovision Young Musicians. Ellisiv has also performed with the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra, Barratt Due Symphony Orchestra, Drammen Symphony Orchestra and Gjøvik Symphony Orchestra. At the age of 19 she did a recording of the Saint-Säens 2nd Piano Concerto with the Norwegian Radio Orchestra.

Ellisiv Tandberg studied with Prof. Jura Margulis at Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna (2018-2021) and Prof. Håvard Gimse at the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo (2013-2017). As a teenager she was a part of a talent program at Barratt Due Institution of Music in Oslo with Prof. Einar Steen-Nøkleberg, Erling R. Eriksen and Kristin Fyrand Mikkelsen.

In june 2021 Ellisiv gave her Master exam concert in Vienna and received a score of 80/80 points from the jury and graduated with 1 (the highest mark) with Distinction. Because of this result she received an invitation to represent the pianist section of Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna in a concert in Musikverein Wien.

“Gift Trio” was formed in 2019 together with Lisa Wagner, clarinet and Dominika Witowicz, violin. Together they won the Fidelio Competition in Vienna, leading the trio to perform in Radio Kulturhaus Wien. The recording was sent on the Austrian radio channel Ö1 several times the following year. In the competition the trio won 2 special prizes, one that included a management engagement and one leading to performances at festivals in Austria.

Ellisiv has performed in Musikverein Wien several times, in Metallener, Gläserner and Steinerner Saal. In 2017 she was a soloist in Oslo Concert Hall at the “Telenor Cultural Prize Award”, where she played Kapustins 2nd Piano Concerto with an orchestra made for the occasion. She has played several concerts at the Norwegian Opera and Ballet, at the Grieg Hall, Bergen. Ellisiv has performed in several countries in Europe and in the US.
